Seeing his struggle, Andrew’s father and older brother decided to help. They came up with an idea to start their own business so Andrew could work. In 2013, they opened a company called Rising Tide Car Wash.
The family noticed that many people with autism are very good at structured work, following steps, and paying attention to details. These skills made them great employees for a car wash. So they decided to hire not only Andrew, but others with autism too.
At first, the business had only a few workers. Today, Rising Tide Car Wash has two locations in Parkland, Florida, and employs about 82 people with autism, making up around 90% of their staff.
